But I'm not actually sure who the target audience is. Which would we be fine if the target audience was much older adults.

For only being about three years old, this book reads like it's from the 70s. I've never heard a narrative from someone so self righteous. She was being asked things in earnest, and her replies were belittling and at times, mean. The lack of self awareness amazed me, especially when she would imply people asking her for advice are illogical, stupid, or unreasonable. I decided to write this review after I heard that line about five times. Implication being that anyone not exactly like her is not a "true" Christian. Second, the writer often cites the actions of "true Christians" when referring to things she's done or the way she thinks. I don't believe God would approve of us diminishing our fellow humans' worth based on a particular kind of sin, or "mistake" they made. She even refers to non virgins as those "marked down in the bargain bin." then says, "you get what you pay for". To begin, I was hoping for a less judgemental, more redeeming take on purity, but what I found was the same narrative of shame.

In conclusion: Excellent book, Beautiful story, AWFUL narration. In fact, it was such a good book, I will purchase the paperback and read it again just so it isn't undeservingly butchered by Tanya Eby. I would have much rather read it by paper and I HATE reading paperback. I am keeping an eye out for the name Tanya Eby (the narrator) so that I NEVER have to listen to her again. Several times I was nearly led to believe that Siri was monologuing the otherwise gorgeous and powerfully romantic accounts of Elisabeth Elliot. The intonation was frightful and her emphasis were placed so incorrectly that it was Unnerving. The narrator might seem alright on the sample, but in short time, her utterly robotic-like voice rips out nearly all the feelings from the emotion-filled moments. However, I must insist that you do not purchase THIS version. This is only one highlight of this wonderful tale of passion and purity. Yes, even the intensely sexual desires that God has so beautifully given man.
#PASSION AND PURITY FULL#
Yet he speaks the full truth of what a man desires. This book is riddled with the honest desires (sometimes to the point of discomfort) of Jim Elliot. This is an amazing testament of true love. I have listened to hundreds of audiobooks over the last five years. Passionless reader for a passion filled book.

In a culture obsessed with dating, sex, and intimacy, the need for Elliot's freeing message is greater than ever.
